The Lalit Technology :
It wasn’t wholly due to us, but when Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation , put into action its Jhagadia GRP pipe line, it was a happy day for us too because the GRP pipes manufactured with utmost care at our works became a part of one of the first installations of GRP pipes in industrial effluent disposal systems in India.
Years have gone by since the implementation of the Jhagadia line, during which reinforced plastics have been used amid ever-growing interest, so much so that today they have become established as a practical and very reliable alternative to a wide range of other materials.
In effect, GRP as a material possesses the following characteristics :
![]() |
a high ratio of mechanical strength : weight |
![]() |
a chemical resistance to most compounds employed in the industry. |
![]() |
low electrical and thermal conductivity. |
![]() |
resistance to weathering. |
![]() |
it is not subject to attack by moulds or micro organisms. |
![]() |
it is non-toxic. |
These characteristics not being found all together in other materials. And, as can be readily understood, this enables reinforced plastics to be applied in widely differing fields of use.

Since the very beginning of its business life LPEL, has worked towards the solution of problems connected with the manufacture of large-size GRP pipes and tanks to be used for conveying and preserving liquids and granular products in general. LPEL has its plant situated on the outskirts of Pune, with it’s works equipped with one of the most modern state of the art microprocessor controlled filament winder,to manufacture GRP pipes ranging in diameter from 150mm to 4000mm ,in maximum of 12 meter lengths and has an installed capacity of 5000M Tonnes per annum.
All the effort, care and continuous extension of research which have been a characteristic of every moment in the life of our Company have produced the result that LPEL today is one of the few in the country capable of manufacturing GRP pipes as large as 4000mm in dia. This dedicated effort has resulted in the company receiving one of India’s first GRP pure drinking water pipe line project, the length of the pipeline being 18 kilometers.
